Simple Ways to Decorate Your Small Bathroom

If you’re trying to design and decorate a small bathroom, you probably understand the challenges that come along with doing so. A bathroom isn’t like a kitchen. Because unlike a kitchen, bathrooms are a closed-off space where someone can have their privacy and relax in peace and quiet.

However, small bathrooms can be tricky. You don’t have a lot of space to work with and you probably don’t want to knock down walls. Even though it may seem hard to do small bathroom remodeling, there are a few ways to get through it easily.

First, you can start with flooring. One of the easiest ways to remodel your small bathroom is simply just by replacing the flooring. It’s just like a coat of paint. You can hire bathroom remodelers to rip out your current floor and install something that is a bit more updated. The floor is one of the first things someone sees when they walk into a bathroom, so you want to make sure it looks nice. You can even spice it up a bit by installing heated floors so when someone walks in the bathroom on a cooler morning, their feet won’t be freezing. This type of flooring is even perfect for stepping on once you get out of the shower. More than four out of five people renovating their homes are replacing things in their bathroom such as flooring, countertops, showers, and sinks. Start with the flooring and go up from there.

Next, you can utilize the height. While your walls might look nice with that cool-toned blue shade you picked out, that’s so much empty space that could be used. Install some floating shelves, pictures, or other storage units to get things up off the floor and hidden in a nice way. You can store things like extra towels, toilet paper, cotton swabs, or cotton balls in tiny baskets and place them on floating shelves. Just be sure they’re not placed too high and out of reach. You don’t want to have to stand on the toilet just to reach the spare rolls of toilet paper!

Finally, let’s go back to that cool-toned blue color you picked out for the walls. That was actually very smart, as painting an already small space a dark color can make it look even smaller. Try and stick with happier, brighter colors. You can also add additional lighting fixtures to the space to brighten up the area. If you’re desperate for some of the darker colors you love, feel free to incorporate them into the room with the use of towels or rugs.

Even though it differs from a large kitchen, you don’t have to make decorating a small bathroom a difficult task! Follow the tips listed above and you’ll easily be able to make your small space the area of your dreams.
